Growing up in Dallas, Brian never thought he would live in Houston. EVER. However, having been here for over a decade, he has found what makes Houston one of the greatest cities in the world, whether it’s food, people or beer. After joining the Karbach cycling team and realizing how well beer and bikes go together, he decided to plan an epic ride to hit every brewery in the city of Houston in one day. Needless to say, it was a mess. A success, but a mess. Regrouping for a second try with rules set in place for each participant, he realized that this could be done over and over again. That’s when the idea was put forth that other people might like to try it as well but maybe not so extreme. Partnering with his long-time friend, Jason, Tour de Brewery was born in May 2018.
When he’s not riding around town or drinking beer, he can be found on stage in Houston performing improv at ComedySportz or writing sketch comedy and standup.
Tour Guide extraordinaire.
An avid biker, he was the first person to take on the challenge set forth by Brian. Loves beer and loves bikes. Planted the seed to take this crazy idea to the next level and offer tours to others. When not on a bike, (which is never), he can be found knuckle deep in mercury testing and consultations. Resident bike expert.
Marissa (aka Employee #1) is a major Houston fan and strives to dispel any rumors that Houston is anything but a bike riders, beer drinkers haven. Marissa’s love for biking began in the Netherlands, where she lived for four years while studying. Since then, biking has been her preferred method of transportation. Also thanks to the Netherlands, Marissa became an avid home brewer, eventually following that passion to Aeronaut Brewery in Somerville, MA. A job at NASA has brought Marissa to Houston and here she has become passionate for the dynamic beer scene and relishes the opportunity to share it with you!
Charlie is a Houston native, bike polo player, and beer lover! He has ridden his bike across the country. He believes bikes and beer go hand in hand. When he’s not on my bike, he is working at a Houston brewery.
